Welcome to Village Spinners
The month of February, our Guild did a Sheep to Scarf presentation at Sheep in the City Getaway. We showed the public how to take a cleaned fleece, card or comb it, spin it and then knit it. The public was welcome to participate and they did. They needed a little prompting but they did try it out. March 3rd, our program was Garneted yarns. Jan put on the demo, using pieces of Pendleton wool scraps on a garneting board, ( a piece of drum carder cloth) to rip the fibers apart and then a drum carder to process it further and then spin it into a Tweedy type of yarn with bits and pieces of the blanket. We had a great show and tell, and a few new spinners that are proving to take to spinning quite well. To join our Guild just contact the shop at 414-768-9276.
