Forgot the photo?

Last night we had our Monthly Guild meeting and it was our Spring Swap!  We all shared some really awesome handspun skeins.  We also are outgrowing Just 4 Ewe Fiber shop.  We used to be able to cram in and now it is hard to cram and we have run out of chairs.  I am going to call Fixx coffee shop to see if they will let us come there the first Thursday of the Month.  Our group is growing so fast and this is just one of those growing pain signs.  We have beginning spinners and advanced and everyone is so willing to share!! I want to thank all of our guild members for staying here in the shop for so long, but it is time to move out, bigger and better spaces.  We can all bring our wheels and get involved in the projects.

Welcome to Village Spinners

The month of February, our Guild did a Sheep to Scarf presentation at Sheep in the City Getaway.  We showed the public how to take a cleaned fleece, card or comb it, spin it and then knit it.  The public was welcome to participate and they did.  They needed a little prompting but they did try it out.  March  3rd, our program was Garneted yarns.  Jan put on the demo, using pieces of Pendleton wool scraps on a garneting board, ( a piece of drum carder cloth) to rip the fibers apart and then a drum carder to process it further and then spin it into a Tweedy type of yarn with bits and pieces of the blanket.  We had a great show and tell, and a few new spinners that are proving to take to spinning quite well.  To join our Guild just contact the shop at 414-768-9276.
